With thirty years of professional human resources management experience, and 17 of those years specifically in the electrical construction space, Dru has been responsible for many ‘people’ projects over the years. Particularly proud of employee development initiatives created around helping new project engineers accelerate into project manager roles, as well as helping develop field employees into field supervisors, he feels it’s very rewarding to see people grow and develop. Dru intends to continue this trend to manage and develop Royal’s team of dedicated Human Resources professionals, ensuring they achieve the Royal Vision. Additionally, he intends to use his breadth of electrical construction compliance experience to ensure Royal meets all compliance demands.

Dru has served as Chairman of ABC San Diego, Chair of their apprenticeship training trust, and has been an active Board member of the Western Electrical Contractors Association (WECA) for several years. He’s a huge advocate for conducting outreach into underserved and disadvantaged communities to help people find careers in the construction industry and is the founding member of a new association dedicated to supporting this advocacy.

Dru holds the Advanced Human Resources certification from the University of California at San Diego and enjoys continuing to develop professionally as a life-long learner. He was born and raised in San Diego, is married with two daughters, and enjoys all types of outdoor sports, including wakeboarding, snowboarding, surfing, and fishing.
