This project involved the upgrade of backup generator power at the Placer County Office of Education in Auburn, CA. The existing 150kVA generator with a 225A ATS was replaced with a 600A ATS. Royal crews disconnected and demolished the 225A ATS and removed existing lights to allow for new 600A feeders from the MSB to ATS. Overhead conduit was also rerouted for the new ATS to gutter. The UPS for the data servers which provide connection to emergency, fire, and police services for 17 school districts only had 30 minutes of capacity. Therefore, the project team worked closely with the owner to coordinate shutdowns necessary for installations, expediting work to shorten shutdown durations and performing work after office hours.
