In the midst of a multi-billion dollar modernization plan at LAX, the Midfield Satellite Concourse North project represented the first phase of the overall program. This facility was intended to provide the capacity necessary to maintain airport flexibility and mitigate impacts to passenger levels of service during construction and implementation of multiple rehab and reconfiguration projects through the airport.

Royal Electric Company was a second-tier subcontractor to S E Pipeline. The project involved cutting over new EFSO stations for new fuel lines, providing fuel for aircraft parking areas, as part of terminal upgrades. Royal assisted with several underground vaults for the fuel lines, installing electrical systems and rewiring EFSO stations.

Although substantial completion was achieved, the EFSO work is ongoing as provisions were made at the time for future projects. Communication between the project team and owner was vital to effectively coordinate construction activities.
