SOLUTIONS/SERVICES

  • Electrical
  • Design-Build

Royal Electric Company was subcontracted on this design build project to replace five switchgear units at Sacramento State. The buildings included Eureka Hall, Amador Hall, Tahoe Hall, Library I and Library II. In addition to switch gear replacements our scope included equipment pad replacement, pathway and electrical service relocations as well as switching for isolation requirements. Royal collaborated with Dinter Engineering to deliver expertly designed systems for switchgear replacements. This involved the replacement of existing 3-way 15kV switches, unit substation transformers, and 480V distribution switchboards and to provide new conductors.

Coordination with the owner and general contractor was essential in mitigating impacts to the campus.

Shutdowns were scheduled over the winter break in December and summer break in August. Additionally Royal provided temporary power to buildings with generators during the shutdowns.
