Student Union Expansion & Renovation

The aim of this project was to renovate the existing student union and construct two new wings. Cooperation with the university was paramount since the owner occupied the building throughout the project. Following the completion of the new wings the owner moved into them, thus allowing the existing building be to renovated. The building included: a lecture hall, ballroom with theater lighting, food court with full kitchen facilities, office space, bookstore and bowling alley.

Royal performed the full electrical installation of backbone for Fire Alarm and low voltage systems. Subcontracted work involved: fire alarm, audio visual systems, telecommunications and data, and security. Royal’s attention to detail and pre-planning mitigated many of the impacts of design changes for all trades.
