Elementary School

Fairmont Charter School

Vacaville, CA

This project was the winner of the 2010 Distinguished Projects for the Western Council of Construction Consumers.

Project Highlights

53,000 SF two-story tilt up replacement Elementary School with LEED Silver Rating. Twenty-seven classrooms, two kindergarten classrooms, multipurpose room, library, computer lab, kitchen and administration offices.

Royal Electric played an active role in this project to assist in acquiring the LEED Silver Rating. An extensive light fixture package was created to ensure that LEED points were earned while taking into account the owners needs in the various classrooms, work rooms and offices.

Royal Electric self-performed all of the site work to accommodate for the new power distribution as well as the installation of the low voltage backbone and electrical system throughout the building.

By attending weekly project meetings and deriving detailed work schedules, Royal was able to play an active role in the coordination process. At times during the project when work was confined to limited space, Royal was able to efficiently coordinate with the other trades to ensure that the strict completion date was met for the upcoming 2009-2010 school year.
