Royal Electric is the electrical subcontractor on this Design-Build Project, taking over for another electrical contractor prior to work onsite. Royal was responsible for the installation of the new switchgear package to power the 4,500 square foot data center powering the multiple UCSF Campuses.

Project Details

The new switchgear package included

  • (2) UPS units
  • (4) Automatic transfer switches
  • Emergency switchboards
  • A/C distribution and power distribution units – Royal was also responsible for the receipt and installation of the battery rack and 40,000 lb. generator

Royal Electric’s scope was specific to the power distribution and control of the large computing system. Seamless scheduling and coordination with the mechanical contractor for power and control of the dedicated CRAC units was required in order to complete our installation and ensure a flawless product for the customer.
