Bay Area Security Enhancement (BASE) Project

Design & build emergency contract for Caltrans District 4 as part of their Homeland Security measures. Royal Electric served as the Prime Contractor overseeing the design, construction management, system integration, interfacing with the Owner and the two other primes. The Emergency Budget was $20M with Royal self-performing $7.5M of the contract. Because of the timeframe and limited budget the system was designed around wireless technology for 95% of the locations which makes it the largest deployment of a Wireless IP Video system on infrastructure in the World.
